About us

REVIVAL is a local charity involved in the promotion of organ donation and is based in Tayside and North East Fife.

Organ donation can be the gift of life for a patient with kidney, heart, liver or pancreas failure.

REVIVAL’s main role is to promote to the public relevant information about the benefits of organ donation. Our view is that families that talk about organ donation are more likely to donate organs of a loved one if they are fully aware of the wishes of their loved ones.

Support for Patients

REVIVAL provides support for the transplant patients before and after their transplant and also supports the transplant co-ordination in the Renal Unit of Ninewells Hospital.

REVIVAL also acts as a voice for the patients through our contact with the local media in respect of issues relating to organ transplantation.

Promotion of Organ Transplants

Many patients wait for years before they receive an organ transplant.

The waiting list will continue to increase unless more families talk about organ donation and join the NHS Organ Donor Register.

Donation and Fund Raising

Donations are gratefully received by REVIVAL and we also organise fund raising activities to finance our running costs, and to enable us to help fund our team taking part in the Transplant Games.

Membership

Membership of REVIVAL is open to any transplant patient in Tayside or North East Fife, or anyone who can bring particular skills to REVIVAL, At present members have kidney or liver transplants.
